The soundtrack of VERSE$, concludes as a reflection of a series of themes that have been recurrent in my projects, particularly those containing samples and sound captations, explored during the course of the process of creation and esperimentation of performance, such as Inverno (2011), CATÁLOGO (2008/ 2012), RARA (2013), ou NIL-CITY (2013). After finishing the musical piece, my first impulse was to offer it an autonomous place, by making it available for free online. At the same time, a will to experiment it in studio appears, giving it physicality, a body. VERSE$ is, in short, a dance show. A solo. My role is to create a parallel between the sound composition and the choreographic composition. Full text: http://www.flaviorodrigues.info/2014/01/verse.html

What we are and what conditions us. A journey through the human condition confronts us with our historical and social existence. The quest for a meaning leads us to the urgent need for an articulation between man and his limits, taking him to what is authentic, but to the false as well. Who better than Shakespeare to talk about conflicts, emotions vs reason. Resorting to the psychology and behavior of characters like Lady Macbeth, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Richard III, to question their own issues. Using their words and actions as subject for our gestures and movements.
António Cabrita studied at the National Conservatoire Dance School in Lisbon and has a degree in dance from Escola Superior de Dança. Also, he studied Dance at theJoffrey Ballet School in NY, Cinema at the New York Film Academy and advertising in Restart – School of Creativity and New Technologies, in Lisbon. He works as a dancer, choreographer, film director, photographer and musician. As a freelance ballet dancer, he has already worked with Rui Horta, Né Barros, António Tavares, Tânia Carvalho and Hofesh Shechter/Companhia Instável. Creation conceived particularly for teenagers between 12 and 16 years-old, but accessible for all the community. During one week we “invade” a school from monday to thursday with a performance made for the time of the school breaks and done several times a day. The time that a student goes from one class to another. Friday and saturday we bring those kids with whom we had contact to the theater, to watch the second part of the piece. First part A piece made for the school breaks. A short piece with the duration of a break between two classes. Second part A piece inspired by the work of Javier Nuñez Gasco “Europa”, and the work of Berlinde de Bruyckere. A reflection about Europe and its different mutations. This piece is done on theater stages.
